Kanett Haynes has much to celebrate this season.

All four of her children are graduating from either college or high school throughout the month of May.

I’m just elated to have the opportunity to help them along the way.

She, her husband and children relocated to South Carolina from Florida in 2007, hoping the move would expose the children to a better life. The family of six settled in Roebuck, South Carolina.

“The blessings just fell on them,” Haynes told Good Morning America. “The children got opportunities that they probably would not have gotten where we were living in Florida.”

Haynes’ eldest child Xzavier, 29, graduated from Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston with aspirations of becoming a pediatrician.

I’m thankful for my mom, for instilling us the values of hard work, perseverance, and having the opportunity to enjoy with my siblings, to be in this grind, the adversity that we’ve faced, through a pandemic, through all the challenges, but still having the resiliency to continue has been really special for me and my family.

Hayne’s second child Charity, 23, will receive her associate degree in nursing from Spartanburg Community College, the first step towards her career as a registered nurse.

Her third child Harmony, 21, will also graduate from SCC with an associate in biology with hopes of becoming a dentist.

Hayne’s youngest child Jimmy will be graduating from high school, and he will study mechatronics at SCC this fall.

“I’m extremely proud of them,” Haynes said. “Each of them has worked very hard to get where they are, and I’m just elated to have the opportunity to help them along the way.”
